In brief
Alin does not have accounts, logins, a newsletter or comments, so there is nowhere for you to deliberately give us personal details. Below is what still takes place when your browser loads a page, plus who can see it.
What happens when a page loads
Four points. You can check each one in your browser’s network panel.
1. The page itself
The pages are static files delivered through a content delivery network. As with any normal web request, your IP address, browser user-agent and the page requested are included, and the provider uses them to return the page to you. We receive overall traffic totals from that service, not a visitor-by-visitor log.
2. Analytics
The site uses analytics that we run ourselves from this domain, not a third-party ad network. It sets first-party cookies — set by this domain and read only by it — so that a returning browser is counted once instead of as a new visitor every time; the longest-lived of them lasts about 13 months. It counts page views. It is not there to create a profile about you, it is not shared with anyone, and it does not track you across other websites.
3. The web font
The site requests a typeface from Google’s font service. That means your browser contacts a host run by Google, and the request includes your IP address and user-agent like any other request. This is the only third party a page here contacts by itself, so we name it here instead of leaving you to spot it in the network panel. If the font does not load, the site uses your system typeface and nothing else changes.
4. Bookmaker links
A betting button does not go straight to a bookmaker. It first opens a path on this domain, then redirects through a click-tracking service we operate, and then continues to the bookmaker. That redirect records that a click took place and the page it came from. It also sees your IP address and user-agent, as every web request does. Once you reach the bookmaker, its own privacy policy applies to what happens after that, and we cannot see your account or your bets.
What we do not do
- We do not ask for your name, email address or any other personal information. There is no form on this site for entering it.
- We do not sell, rent or pass on reader data, because we do not keep a database of it.
- We do not use advertising networks, retargeting pixels or social widgets. You will not find embedded social buttons here.
- We do not send emails. There is nothing for you to unsubscribe from.
Your browser has the main controls here. If you block third-party requests, the font will not load and the site will continue to function. Clearing site data removes the analytics cookies and nothing else, because nothing else is stored.
This policy explains the site as it is built today. If that changes, this page will be updated, and the version shown here is the one that applies. There is not yet a contact channel for privacy questions — see contact, which says that clearly instead of sending you to an address that does not exist.
